2003 SL55 CD Changer Not Working!
Hi,
My CD changer in my SL55 has stopped working.
The disc selector moves along each disc holder ( sleeve? ) in the cartridge but returns the message " Magazine Empty " when it is not.
The mechanical bits must all be working apart from the bit that actually pulls the disc sleeve out.
MB want to replace the whole unit at a cost of £700 ( cough! )
I have looked on eBay and it looks like I can get a second hand one for about £150.
I have 2 questions:
1 - Has anyone heard of this happening before? Is it repairable?
2 - If I need to replace it, is it easy to get the changer out? It is situated in a cubby hole behing the passenger seat.
