Has anyone installed this unit in their car? No this is not a plug for this company.

beater with a heater
As nice as the idea is, it fails in many ways. First the GUI is lame, operation sucks, software is no where near what an aftermarket unit from Pioneer, Kenwood, or Alpine has, support for the unit, such as upgrades and minor software fixes is pretty much non existent. Also it uses the lame internal amplifier to power the factory speakers. My professional opinion (though recently retired) would be to replace the COMAND with the new Kenwood and utilize the optical interface from NavTV (Derek@nav-tv.com) originally called the opti1 now the mosthurmb if your factory amplifier and speakers are fine.

There are many topics in here about the opti1 with many people stating that their audio system sounded better with it.
