Comand NTG 4.5 Update
Hi,
I have a MY2012 C250 coupe with NTG 4.5. I have 2 questions:
1- Wondering if there is an update to the NTG 4.5 COMAND firmware available out there. Service guy (salesperson) at SF Mercedes was clueless. I had a new E-class replacement car, and while the COMAND looks very similar, it had a few extra options like Internet navigation, consumption graphs, silver color menus, etc. Is the hardware that different that I couldn't get the same firmware?
2- How can i get an update to my map (USA 2013) without going through the stealerships?

I have the same COMAND unit as you. Did some research today with regard to map updates.
It appears to be impossible at the moment to update the maps without paying the stealership. NTG 4.5 (and newer) units now require a PIN code to access the maps / navi after you install the map update. The code is uniquely generated for your VIN number.
