how to set up gain for subwoofer with stock bose

soon i am about to have a aftermarket sub in my trunk but not sure whats the best rout for adjusting the gain. i have stock bose audio 30 and i removed the subwoofer and used the stock sub connections for a active line output converter(lc2i). now i read i can play a 50hz test tone at the volume i want and set my gain on my amp but i have to disconnect my interior speakers. Now i dont think we can do that with stock bose or is there? or should i just a set the gains to the same voltage as the loc or just do by ear? 2003 c320 audio 30 lc2i loc ,alpine type x 12`,INCRIMINATOR AUDIO IA10.1 1200W RMS @1ohm but i am only running 800w@2ohm

Might get a better response in the audio sub forum.

set the gain by ear, its not rocket science, adjust it to how you like it. now if you have a 10" woofer and trying to make it pound like a pair of 15" woofers, then I am sure all common sense is ruled out and you will be blowing shiet up, and your next post will be, "my sub was smoking"

Gain is easy to set...but your neighbours might not like it lol First turn the gain down and then you play something and turn the volume on your deck to as loud as you would play it. Now adjust the gain until it starts to distort and turn it back down a little bit. If its too over bearing for the rest of your system you can turn it down even more to have a better balance.
