COMMAND NAV PROBLEM
I began updating Command NAV maps with car running. Voltage change?? caused system to stop updating and now NAV is stuck with message asking for NAV DVD 1... Tried disconnecting battery and engineering menu. Can't reset it. Any help is appreciated. Yes, I did copy files into 2 DVDs (ISO files)... Dealer said I would have to reflash system...
Navigation Map Update for MY 2011 C300W W204
Hi Guys,
I just update my Navigation system maps over the weekend to 2013 maps.
It does take a long time. The system turns off if the ignition is turned off. I think it automatically turns itself on if the ignition is turned on but the engine is not running to save the battery from going dead. When you see those messages insert Navigation DVD 1 (I saw insert Navigation DVD 2 most of the time) try to eject all DVD's and re-insert the one that it is asking for. I don't think it has to be in slot 1. (I have six DVD changer in my MY2011 C300W 4-Matic). At one time, I coudn't even eject the DVD's using eject all. Just keep hitting the CD/DVD button next to radio button in the center console of the dashboard. Also, you might try turning the system off and then turning it back on. This is like a reboot. Hope this helps.

I FIXED my problem of: "Please insert a Nav DVD" by removing the navigation fuse in the trunk (for 10 approx. minutes) and re-insert it -- FIXED ;-) Background: My Navigation system on my "new" CLS55 had a burned copy of 2009 maps in it. I bought OEM 2014 Map update, inserted, it updated and worked fine until I burned a backup from that, inserted it but it gave the 'insert Navigation DVD" error message & it didn't work. I re-inserted 2014 OEM maps and it worked. Re-burned another copy of 2014 maps and it also failed. Inserted 2014 maps and it now - FAILED! Crap. Uh oh I thought. Now - nothing worked. I did many more IN & OUT of various Map DVDs - but nothing worked. Too much screwing around. Try removing & inserting the navigation FUSE! I believe this was like a hard reset of this navigation computer.
