New Media Interface Cable - Incompatible

After months of waiting, I finally got to try the new Media Interface cable. This is the cable with the 8-pin Lightning connector. Unfortunately, when I plugged it into my car, all I got was a "Device Incompatible" message on the display and my iPod Touch (current model) wouldn't work. However, I did notice that the new cable charges the iPod.

My car is a 2012 C63 AMG equipped with the Multimedia Package (option 320). The part number of the new cable is A 003 827 0904.

There have been several posts under the W212 & C207 sections on this forum about this issue. That new cable only works on 2013 and newer models.

You can use the original 30 pin cable with a GENUINE (not aftermarket) Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter to work with a phone or ipod that has the lightning adapter.

I can understand your frustration, but the above is what I did on my 2010 E350 coupe and it works just fine.
