Hi to all.
At this time I can confirm that Iphone 5s with Comand Online 4.7 works together for data connection too.
I just want to share my experience to give a guide to all that want to connect the Apple Iphone 5s (or bigger) with Comand Online. I had a lot of problem to use my phone for data connection, and today finally I succeed in it.
In first, my configuration: Comand Online (NTG4.7) on a C204 Coupè year 2014 class Avantgarde; Iphone 5s (IOS version 8.3 - 12F70).

Follow those steps...
1) check your Comand and Iphone firmware. To do this in Iphone, go in General Settings, Info; in the Comand, go on the Eng Menù (See other forums). My, working configuration, are Iphone 8.3 and Comand FL Ver. BLD-NTG47 6.25 (see images)
2) Be sure to remove any bluetooth pairing both in Iphone and in the Comand too (if you already paired them before).
3) Turn on bluetooth in the Iphone and turn on tethering (personal hot spot) in the Iphone. LEAVE THE IPHONE WITH THIS PAGE OPEN (see pic). If you close this screen, the pairing will go, but you can't use the data connection, because the Comand needs to find all the bluetooth services avaiable during the pairing procedure. In the Iphone, the data sharing pairing procedure is avaiable only if you are in this screen!! Probably you miss this step, if you tried without success before.
4) In the Comand, start the pairing procedure, searching new bluetooth devices. Let your Comand search for new devices. When it find your Iphone, it will ask to confirm a code on both devices. Accept the code on the Iphone before, and after confirm also on the Comand Unit.
5) After some seconds, you should see a blu small bar on the top of your Iphone display, showing 1 device connected (we are still in the HOT SPOT screen).
6) At this point you should have your Iphone paired with the Comand, both for voice and data connection. You can close this screen at this point.
7) Follow the Comand instructions manual to create a provider. If you do all correctly, the Comand will say that the Iphone not support the manual provider, you need to use the auto configuration. Use the auto configuration option on.
8) Remember that, for the SMS messages on your Comand, you also need to activate the "show" slide button on your iphone (under the settings of MB Bluetooth Device).
9) Open the Web Menu in the Comand (globe icon) and try to connect to the MB Apps or any other service online. Be sure you have a data connection plan on your phone...

Remember, I checked for several forums before find a solution. Many and many attemps were failed before find this working procedure.
If you fail the correct procedure, all seems to be ok the same (also the blue bar on your iphone), but when you try to use online applications, the Comand remain in the Connect status and after show you an error. In this case, you miss something. Remove the devices on both Iphone and Comand and restart this procedure againg.
Not is clear in the Mercedes manual or any other contact I had with their customer service.
As I understand, this procedure works ONLY with Comand Online NTG 4.7 (not before), because the older Comand Online do not support the PAN Bluetooth protocol (just DUN). I started, finding that in my Comand Printed Manual, it mention the auto provider configuration supported only for the PAN phone devices, showing me that my version supports also PAN protocol (check your manual if you still have).

Before this solution, I used another phone (samsung galaxy ace) with android and BLUEDUN app, just for data connection. It works fine, and it's easier to configure (just follow the manual). You can use this "exit strategy" in case you can't be able to use your iphone. But I can say that it's more easier now to have only one phone to do everything and you don't to switch between the two phone every time.

I hope that you can have help with this little guide. I will happy if someone can use it to solve the same problem.

Tried the above instructions but didn't work for my iPhone6 running iOS8.3. My car is a w222 s-class. Have tried several ways to make it connect but only the Bluetooth audio and phone work

 

I have an 2015 s550 and can't get my message to show in the car from my iPhone 5s. Any suggestions?

 

Today I changed my iPhone with a 6s. At first it seems to won't work with data connection. Also with this procedure. At this Point, I Make a reset network configuration in my IPhone (general settings). The data connection works perfectly again now. The phone Was already paired with command.
So... Try to do also this reset if you don't have success before, malve you need also this.

I have a 2014 ML350 with COMAND 4.7, however I dont have a settings menu under MB Apps, it says SIRIUS Weather instead of Settings.

I checked in the ENG menu and it says NTG47.

Any ideas?

i have a c220 from july 2011 and command i dont know which version even i dont know where in command can see that. the thing is that my iphone 5 cant share the internet connection.

if my command firm were 4.5 i could connect with a samsung phone and update to 4.7? then my iphone will works?

 

For jolugo.... Sorry, but I have not idea for you sirius menu instead settings.. Never seen before. Maybe You have a different version of command software in your car.

For antrabe... No way to use your command before 4.7 with apple devices to share data connection. As I know, you can't update command firmware, maybe in mercedes, but probably neither to them.
Use android phone with bluedun app installed. This is the only way I know that can works.

Addendum..... The command online "experience" is pretty poor in browsing and only few apps avaiable. At this time I increase my system using the media interface.... If you have this option installed, you can buy a cable to have a video input (analogic) in your comand monitor. At this point I have connected an android box (40 euros) with an av our jack. With this, I have a complete Android device (with all apps) in my car. I used a bt keyboard to control it and the iphone shared connection. I can use different navigation software (like waze or tom tom), have a very fast browser, play video (youtube ..) and streaming tv. I also connected an obd2 interface and control all the engine parameters in my comand monitor. The box is powered using the usb port and all is inserted into the central pocket of the car. No disassemble part is been necessary to do all. If you don't have e media interface option, you should can do the same using the video input for the rear camera, but in this case you need to remove the comand unit to connect the video cable to the rear of the comand. In this case you also need a cable adaptor.
I hope that you can have some suggestions from my ideas. If I will have ti e in the next days, I'll add some pics.

It seems that the option is not offered in the US. According to the manual it's only for Canada. So I guess they force you to pay those 20 something dollars a month for access through mbrace, plus the anual charge of course. Not cool.

 

Hi All,

I have bought a Canadian 2013 E550 to find out that the Internet using your phone as a hotspot was disabled in the US, so that you bought the Mbrace.

I was able to turn the browser back on using the engineering menu. Next I went to settings to choose a country and carrier. I was surprised when found out that the US wasn't in the list of countries. Therefore I couldn't select it and couldn't find AT&T.

It is however possible to create add a carrier manually. The system does ask for information to be provided about the carrier. If anyone knows what would be the info for ATT, I should be most grateful. Please look at the questions in the photo and let me know if you know what to type in in each of the fields.
