2007 c-280 mcsII comand repair?

hello, wife car a 2007 c-280 with mcsII command is having problems. the inboard cd player doesn't eject and disk doesn't play. the gps is intermittent but mostly doesn't work right and often sends here lost. I have tried several different disks and its the same. does anyone know of a place where we can get this repaired? im in the NYC area and would prefer a local shop but will be ok with anywhere.

thanks

will

could your nav be spotty due to the buildings? I had an S class customer with the escort 9500ci that would drop the GPS intermittently due to the buildings in Manhattan. If it were me and I really wanted that antique, i would call around some junk yards and replace the mechanism myself... but if I were to keep the vehicle...and my wife was really really nice to me, i would install the Alpine INE W960 for her. I am sure you have the Harmon Kardon system due to having the COMAND, so you would need an amp... but the quality of the Alpine is 100x better than the factory. add steering wheel controls and Sirius and you would have a complete system

thanks for the reply

im sure its not the building because once upon a time this unit worked great. it actually came with I think the audio 50 and I bought this mcsII from some guy off of ebay in 2012. was supposedly new. shes got the phone system also as well as the multi cd changer in the glove box and a satellite that she not longer subs to. at this time we probably would prefer to keep the OEM but that can change at a later date.

that alpine does look nice though. where would the amp be installed is she goes that route?

thanks

you can put the amp in the trunk are, Alpine makes a PDX amp that is small and is a 5 channel, would do great, there are some other less expensive, such as the PDR.

As for the problems you are having, the cd player not reading discs, would need repaired which i know no one that does it, as for a replacement, I had a friend at the dealership quote $4k for a refurbished. You can try calling united radio which is in your neck of the woods.

I don't think a software update will fix anything.

The gps antenna could be going bad, you can look on ebay for an aftermarket gps antenna with a round end and plug it in the back of the command and see if it works ok

thinking about it now, it sounds like a hassle, just replace it. i can recommend someone for you.
