I picked up a clean used 2009 GL with the media interface. It has the factory cable in the glovebox with the 30 pin apple connector.

I need a lightning connector for my iPhone 6 that will enable the steering wheel controls.

Most of the ones I find say will only charge and provide audio input. Controlling songs/functions have to be from the iPhone itself. Seems that something happened in 2013 since some state steering wheel control support 2013 and newer?

Does anyone have accurate information on a cable that is available that will integrate correctly for the iphone lightning connector on a 2009?

Thanks jbondox, I ordered something similar. I had hoped that a direct connection was available. It aggravates me that the cable is so short that the phone must be left in the glovebox so I wanted to add an extension cord on to it and route it into the center console so the phone would be easily within reach. I'm hoping that 2 additional connections won't create communication problems.

When I was at MB, I used solely the cablejive products http://www.cablejive.com/lightning/ never had an issue, a bit more pricey but well worth the piece of mind.
