I replaced radio in my 2000 ML320 went to put security code in within 2 seconds enter security screen went to tele aid- muted. couldn't enter code in time to push OK. I left radio installed, when I shifted into reverse code screen stayed on and was able to enter code now radio only works in reverse, any other position radio screen goes to tele aid-muted, no sound. Any ideas ? I think the radio is receiving a different signal when in reverse.

gray wire on radio connector has 12v when in reverse, cut gray wire and connected it to orange wire that has 12v in all gears. radio now works at all times.
