Exclamation SMS & COMAND on 2004 W211
Yes, I remember receiving SMS messages when I first got the car.

However, after a couple of recent software upgrades, the SMS button now has dimmed out. I booked an appointment with MB to further investigate this week.

It's a 2004 E55 with a CDMA V60i, with end of Feb 2004 COMAND software upgrade.

I don't think US comands will let us do this due to saftey reasons. Euro comands still have this feature. You should be able to read messages on both.

You can receive on all comands but CANNOT send on US comands since it's too cumbersome typing a SMS while driving.
