Liquid damage to COMAND unit

I've already posted this on the G class sub forum but I'll give it another shot here since I believe it pertains more to this than anything specific to the G Wagen. A buddy of mine spilled coffee on the center console of my G and shorted out the nav screen. It will now display nothing other than a blank, white screen. I disassembled it and tried to clean out the connections with contact cleaner and also installed a new screen for the COMAND unit (NTG 2.50). Still nothing. The buttons, the radio, my presets, CD changer, etc all work but the screen won't display anything at all, just blank whiteness. I guess at this point I'm looking at repairing the COMAND unit but any further advice would be greatly appreciated!
