Keyless go guts?

I bought a key recently to swap the Rom chip and think it may be a keyless go remote. How would I know for sure? The board has like 3 inductive coils on it. I found another thread that someone posted in saying his key was different as well and a member posted saying it was a keyless go remote. But mine is also different than his. What part determines it's a keyless go? My original black plastic key has a slightly oval panic button as does my new chrome style fob. Fcc on the old one is IYZ3312 the new one is IYZ3317. Both fobs have same manufacturer, Marquardt. Old plastic fob has "2701 103 2302". New chrome fob has "220.280.021" and "IC: 2701a-3317". Are these roms interchangeable? The inductive coil broke on my old key and couldn't find a decent replacement. So I ordered the chrome key with the same style panic button (slightly oval). Chrome key also has a round plastic part that is in the place that saw the keyless go key has the rom chip in that spot.

denra,

yep, that's a Keyless-Go key.

Right part has only one coil and doesn't have that round dealio

If you did the existing soldering on the old one, do NOT try to take off the EEPROM

Once you break a leg off it, you HAVE to go to dealer and get a $300 key from them, no fixing a broken eeprom

If you mail me key I can still move the eeprom for you

(guy in LA, we already talked about this)

Good news is that the outside is nice on key you got, so you can use a crappy external key, just need PCB from it

think I have a crappy one here

Quick Follow up,

I got a buggered up Black Key from Denra on Friday via overnight, I swapped onto a Chrome board I had (he had housing) and overnighted it back to him.

I got this email from Denra:

"It worked!! Can't thank you enough! Thanks again lol. Works like a charm!"

So, his car had sat dead for days.

Ideal candidate for this is actually someone who has a dead key in a drawer and isn't quite as desperate, though I do feel good knowing I got someone's car on the road again, without them having to pay to have it towed to a dealer and then pay full price for a new key.

I have asked him to update this thread as well, I imagine he's out driving around enjoying his resurrected MBZ !

Yes, Macvid you are a saint! My keys works like a charm and my new housing let's me utilize my trunk release as well which works like a charm! 1000 thank you! I even indicted the newly created key and it looks factory! Very clean work. I had a few quotes locally of the shops that said they would actually attempt it, and cheapest was $50 and 4 hours to complete. Mine was done in a fraction of the time and was back to ups same day! My c fires up every time. No issues and absolutely no complaints. Thanks again man. Definitely gong to refer you (my cousin works at Mercedes here in town so I'm sure he sees this a lot). He could only get nd the key for $212. I paid less than half!

Wow, you are 2nd person to send a key that had no trunk button on the housing, but had a switch underneath. The other guy had a wagon and when he got key the trunk button didn't do anything.

Glad yours actually enabled hatch release. I wonder how many folks are running around with rear hatches that could be popped by the key if they had the other housing? (Easy enough to test, if anyone is interested I'll tell you how)

Anyhow, glad it worked ! I'm still at 100% success rate. Enjoy !
