Aftermarket Alpine components?

Aftermarket Alpine components?
What are your opinions of Alpine amps, subs etc?
I know Alpine makes the stock head unit, and I was looking at an Alpine MRV F450 5 channel amp to add to my C230K sedan to juice the stock speakers and add a 10 or 12" sub in a sealed box. I don't want to swap out all the speakers, just add some power to them and add a better sub.
Ideas?
