2004 E500 4MATIC Wagon

Questions about fiber optics in W211 with regards to android head unit.

I am looking to upgrade my 2004 E500 to the android head unit. I have the Harmon Kardon sound system in the vehicle so I need to use an adapter.

I found a cheap one on ebay.

Does this ebay unit work well? And what extension cabke could I run to connect it to the front of the vehicle? AVIN offers a 60$ one but Id like to get a cheaper one. If anyone could answer anyof these questions it would be greatly appreciated.
