How can it be done? THe w203 was never intended to have it in the first place. The star diag won't have it on the system to make any changes to it also and it a going to be very expensive. There are too many antennas involved and what about the key. Benz won't have a registered w203 VIN number for key.

Bump from the dead.
I found a Keyless Go option in DAS. I'm going to try to see how this contraption works. I know it can be done on the w203. Any tips would help :-)

I think this has been done, check at the well known Dutch web site, but it isn't something for an average DIY, even one of those who's got a Star.

I'm afraid you did not reach any significant step yet. Did you find the parts for a W203, antennas that fit the car as well as door handles? How about the keys as mentioned above?

Keyless Go internals from W209
Door handles from W211
Shifter from W209
Trunk handle from W209
Custom made door locks
You need to decide ahead of time which year model you want to emulate. In the past when this was done .... it also cost
- new windscreen
- new SRS controller and sensors
- new steering column
- new steering lock
- new cluster
So be very careful where you start.

I mentioned this in the past to rob13572468 and also NavTv when they both were designing remote starts for the benz's.
I know I spent more time kicking the idea around with navtv then rob, it would be possible utilizing the remote starts as the main interface, but you would also have to carry an extra fob which would be aftermarket.
Further it would be expensive still! I'd trade in for a newer vehicle with it before I tried retro'ing it

Sure has .... several times.
If you wanted to start a project like this on a W203. I would strongly recommend having a 2003 build for a whole raft of reasons.
Once you line up the year model of the W209 with the year model of the W203 you are basically borrowing everything from a 2004+ CLK.
Thereafter if you have an older W203 all the compliance parts needed for canbus to operate will need to be installed.
If you wanted to do it the least expensive way you would start on a 2005+ facelifted W203. This is because the overlap with the year of production of the modules would be the same.
for example. The OCP, rain sensor, Central gateway electronics, Audiogateway would all be compatible from factory. Then when you install the W209 Keyless Go ignition barrel you wont have any errors caused by hardware non-compliance.
In my install I had to throw out the following parts
- cluster (optional)
- steering column
- steering lock
- SRS module
- ESP module
- lateral shock sensors
- Fuel senders to MAPPS
- steering spiral
- steering wheel
- transmission controller
- windscreen and rain sensor
- various wiring harnesses
- whole D2B audio system (optional) to MOST
- overhead control panel
- front door locks
Let's just say it was "fun" .....
Then on top of this I had to dismantle both rear doors to install the chromed door handle bearing plate. Since keyless go handles only come with chrome and classic spec does not support chrome handles. so the little plastic had to come out and that really needed the whole door pulled apart.
Then on top of all this .... you still have to add the keyless go parts.

some slow@$$diesels
I retrofitted full working keyless-go (doorlocks, trunklid lock and whatever else fitted directly or after some modifications) in a:
- 2006 203 coupe (which also has distronic, active TPMS, heated rear seats, ventilated/heated front seats, CLK interior and so on)
- 2003 US spec C32 station with full 2005 audio system (including IC, airbag unit, EIS) and distronic
- 2002 C270CDI station (which also has distronic, active TPMS, CLK instrument cluster)
the first KGo retrofit was a bit of a hassle, the third one was a "walk in the park"
and as these cars have an original mercedes standalone heater as well - there is no need for a remote starter at all
