SL55 Bose

The sound from the Bose system in my new 04 SL55 is not that great and I would like to upgrade. The bass is slow and boomy and the rest of the sound is mediocre. Any ideas on what I could do without tearing the car apart? For real audiophile sound I would spend bucks. Thanks.

Well that happens with home speakers. They usually need 100 hours or so for the drivers to loosen up. I did notice some improvement yesterday and today and attributed it to the recordings. My car is only jsut over 2 weeks old. I'm still very skeptical. It should be a better system with a real sub. I may still do something about it. Thanks.

I have an '03 sl... heard the sub was in the passenger footwell... can anywond confirm? If so, could be first thing to change.

Also, I suspect that swapping the tweeters out would be a good idea, they just don't seem to have the extreme upper range they should have.

Might i suggest Kicker tweeters. if youre looking for good clean highs, the kicker 3/4 inch tweetrs i bought for my car are great. you will notice a huge difference between those and the stock ones. do watch out though because bose systems can be a ***** to upgrade because of their amps/ohm ratings.
