2012 C63 Coupe SAM Unit replacement cost?

2012 C63 PP Coupe
2012 C63 Coupe SAM Unit replacement cost?
I took my 2012 C63 Coupe to a mercedes dealer in Toronto to get a problem looked at (center console panel that has the hazard lights, traction control, seat heat, etc... doesn't work). They say one of the SAM units needs to be replaced, and are quoting $500CAD to find the problem, $1200CAD for a replacement SAM unit, and $500CAD to install. Is this price high or is it fair?

Very strange, SAM's normally don't control traction control and heated seats---it's a microprocessor that controls on and off voltage requests----find an indy with good diagnostics for a second opinion!
