2000 E Class - Voice recognition of Radio/CD/Tape Does it work?
I had them take a look at the voice recognition module I installed in my car. Whenever I say "Radio" "Tape" "CD Changer" it says "The device is not available" If I say "Phone" it switches to phone no problem and even dials names....
I would just like to be able to switch back to the CD after I'm done with the phone without taking my eyes off the road to hit the button on the stereo for CD...
They put the unit on the Star computer twice and said it was coded right and had no faults.
After the second visit they said that MY2000 models don't support the Radio/CD/Tape functions and only do the phone, so it's working properly even though she says "THere is no device".
Some background, phone came from the factory with the startac but no VR. I updated to a new v60s/PSE from the dealer and I bought the VR module off of ebay....
Any suggestions??
Thanks

Maybe it's the head unit or perhaps other part of the car that doesn't support VR for radio?
If the VR module understands what I'm saying but can't find the device, not sure if it's something else in the car...
Thanks for confirming this about MY2000...
Not sure what year VR module I have, the instruction manual that came with it said it supports radio and all that stuff....
