Just installed a used command unit from a donor vehicle. Everything works fine but as soon as the electronic ignition is started, the unit goes in to anti theft mode. I've called around a few dealerships, some gave me a five digit PIN, the part supplier gave me another five digit pin, no body has the "26 pin code."
I've read a few other threads and watches several videos... Am I correct in that this cannot be solved by inputting the numbers on the command keypad, and that the command unit has to be reprogrammed via Xentry and Vedoc?
I'm getting a lot of run around and would like to get this working if anyone can refer a place in the Los Angeles area.

I know this is an old thread, but "lost" PINs seem more common than you think. To restore access to the COMAND module, you will need the 25-character PIN and someone who can use Vediamo to enter it. I was able to recover mine with @BenzNinja help.
