CD Changer power loom wiring colours

I have bought an MC3198 fiber optic CD changer, plus the fiber optic cables and a power wiring loom for it. I am ready to connect it up to the Audio 10 front/head unit in my 1999 SLK R170 (From 2000 the cars already had this wiring installed at the factory!).

My question today relates to the three wire power supply loom (part number A210 540 5835). It connects to the changer at one end, but does anyone know where the black wire, brown wire and blue/black wire are supposed to connect at the other end please?

I expect some or all of the wires will be inserted into the din connectors at the back of the Audio 10 head unit, but I don't know which.

Even knowing just what the respective coloured wires should be fed with would be useful (ie positive, negative, ignition live etc), if anyone knows...

Thank you.

According to the wiring diagram for my 2000 SL500, the changer wires are: black = +12 volts switched on with radio (what MB calls the "ECM wake up signal); blue = +12 volts radio/ignition on; and brown = ground. These connect to pins 4, 5, and 6 respectively the "C" connector on the back of the radio unit. I can't say for sure that this will apply to your SLK situation.

I hope this helps,

blue/Black is your wake up wire, brown is ground, and black is 12 volts positive.
