AV1 and AV2 Loss of Audio after 3-4 Minutes

AV1 and AV2 Loss of Audio after 3-4 Minutes
I have added a DVD player into the TV Tuner of my SL500 R230 using the stanard Three Pin Audio Leads that came the portable DVD unit.
When you select AV1 or AV2 you can now watch films in the car.
I have a problem whereby the after 3-4 minutes the audio is lost. If I change the Tuner back to Normal TV, then back to the AV port the sounds returns.
Has anyone else had this problem ? Please can anyone offer advice ?
