A212 head unit changer
I have a 2011 E550 with an A 212 900 86 09 head unit which contains
a 6 disk changer. All functions work including cd/dvd load and unload.
The problem is it will not read a cd or dvd.
I have seen one youtube video on disassembly and read head replacement
on an older model head unit but this unit made by Mitsubishi is different.
Can anyone direct me to a video or instruction to disassemble enough to
at least inspect and clean the read head? I have unit out of car.

As a follow up I had no success in getting unit to read disks. I replaced
with an exact part number unit I located. The replacement unit did start
normally and I was able to check various functions worked. Then it
displayed the message that anti theft lock had been activated. Is there
any alternative to taking the car to dealer 50 miles away?
I do have the VIN of the donor car if I have to go.
