A month ago I purchased the MB dashcam’s, front and back and also the wiring harness.
Unfortunately they do not come with installation instructions as they would like MB to perform the installation.
Having purchased the 2020 version of WIS/ASRA and EPC service repair workshop manuals, I have copied all of the install instructions and created a PDF file so you don’t have to go through the same hassle!
My installation is on a mid 2019 GLE. It has all the possible extra’s and does identify ‘dashcam’ if you go into the dealer menu but it’s grey’d out. This seems to be the option for most cars within the EU, certainly the US now seem to be shipping them with a dashcam icon which can be activated when inserting a storage device. I believe however this only utilises the front camera (not sure). Ultimately this option may be made active for European users within a possible MBUX release? Who knows?
Regardless, MB do offer an aftermarket setup. Here it is..
As mentioned above, the attached install documentation is for the new (v167) GLE. WIS does have the documentation for all MB models that these units fit. Compatibility can be found on the MB purchasing sites by inserting your VIN.

Just curious about "compatibility". Is it a mechanical fit/mounting issue, or are compatible vehicles prewired?
I have translated the information provided by Chipsets into English, the information appears to read correctly & hopefully can be understood & followed by a car technician!

Hello, I would like to install this camera in an older W203 car from 2005 and the question is what signal comes from this blue plug? What is this black and red wire for, which you have to plug into in the SAM module?
Is this some kind of wake-up signal or ACC 12V?
Please help me someone who has an idea.
