Am I responsible for the poor reception
I removed the "Special" model radio from its' slot (did not disconnect) and replaced.
This was to get access to the compartment below to locate a small indicator
unit from which the wiring was threaded to 4 new rear parking sensors I fitted into rear bumper
Since doing this I cannot get AM reception, and some FM signals are weak.
Could I have disconnected any wiring, which may be the cause?
I cannot see any loose wires.
Would the single cable (thin 6 core) used for this job have any effect on the radio signals
Where can I find info.on MB audio wiring and aerial/antenna location ?

Just as I was about to have someone punch a hole in the left rear quarter for a motorized antenna, I happened to have my reading glasses on and found that my "AM band" was actually set for shortwave band. No wonder it wasn't pulling in the baseball game.
But nahhhh, your situation couldn't be as silly as mine. :-) though I'm still going ahead with the motorized antenna if not for a little better signal strength on AM/FM.
No problem with the correct waveband selection.
I must try to locate the terminals/connections and see if anything is loose.
Don't really know where to start.
A bit of trial and a lot of error I suppose.
