I have a 2011 E 350 convertible with the command system. It has the weird plug in the glovebox. The old cable that split into one piece going to 3.5mm and the other a lightning connector. Well it broke. I have ordered 3 different cables off of Ebay but none seem to register with the car. I tried to splice a lightning end on the old one but it has 5 wires and everything I have for Iphone has only 4. Does anyone know where I can get another cable that will work? The bluetooth sounds pretty good when I can get it to connect but is very spotty (cuts out) most times when it does connect (Iphone 13 pro). Any help appreciated.
No, I had a cable that looked like this. Howeer a wire broke at the lightning end. I have ordered 3 other cables that looked similar. However the command system does not recognize them and therefore won't play any music. I tried to splice the original but the lightning end has 5 wires rather than the usual 4 on regular iphone usb charging cables.
I don’t even need my glasses for that one 🤣 It looks like there are lots of Mercedes variations of that cable. It also looks like there is some difference between a version that works for Audi/VW and versions that work for Mercedes. These “seem” to specify Mercedes and Class E.
