Help! CD stuck in COMAND

I have a CD stuck in the single-slot of my COMAND system. When I press the eject button, I hear some mechanics whirring, then I get the message "CD Drive: No CD". It then switches to my changer for about a second, then switches back to the single-slot and loads track 1 as if I had just put a new CD in. The disc plays fine, but it just won't eject. Any thoughts?

i had this same problem. luckily the car was still under warranty and the dealer just replaced the entire comand. but i talked with steve (mbenznl) about it a few months later, and he noted that it was probably an easy fix if the dealer techs hadn't been so lazy (or eager to bill mb for a new comand).

MB does not allow you to "repair" control modules. If they have been opened, MB will debit the entire claim. It has little to do with laziness I assure you....

Same thing happened to me . . . MB replaced the whole Comand unit under warranty.

Before taking it in, however, my wife figured out that she could "assist" the disc out with a hair pin.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It was stuck for a couple of days, then started working again. I'm sure it'll happen again though.

HELP! I also have a CD stuck in MBenNL COMAND

I have just experienced the same problem. I rarely listen to music CDs, but today my GF put one in. It will not eject. When I press eject, it sounds like it will eject but the screen switches to changer (which I don't have) then starts playing track 1 of the CD that is already in there.

My Euro COMAND was installed by Steve last year and it has been working perfectly until now. But that means that I can't go to my dealer for help. All I've got is you guys (Steve hope your are reading this and can provide some help). Any ideas on how I can at least eject the music CD "by helping the unit" so I can put in the NAV CD?

If it's cold, try and let it warm up a bit. The rubber roller seems to expand and grip better when warm. You can also try and slide a credit card in the slot to give it a nudge.
