W205 COMAND NTG5*2 Issues
I hope here is a Mercedes COMAND/electronics specialist on the road who can help me =)
We have a C250 CDI BlueTec Avantgarde with a COMAND Online NTG5*2 (if I'm right). Since 2 years there are problems with just that COMAND. It started (of course 2 days before the vacation) with failing traffic sign recognition, navigation system hung at " being started", error messages (when reading out) with "GPS antenna" defective etc.
On vacation, a (non-contract) Mercedes workshop has re-flashed the software - since then so far navigation, sign recognition, etc. went as before, only one problem (which existed before the update) has remained: when playing MP3, for example, you have every 30-60sec a short dropout ... the whole thing goes for about 10-15min, then the short dropouts stop. Unfortunately, the volume can then no longer be controlled and a change from MP3 <> radio for example is not possible. The navigation system works "normally". From time to time, the ventilation level or temperature can no longer be regulated, too. If you restart the HU by pressing the eject button for 10sec, everything works again for 10-15min. According to a OBD adapter, however, the control unit registers the signals of the volume control knob (as live data is showing values while rotating the knob). The speedometer display says "not available". It seems like some software component of the HU hangs up after x restart attempts and finally stops responding. Unfortunately, that's where my debugging stops. As an IT person I have technical understanding, but in the COMAND area I don't have the appropriate tools for debugging.
Since we currently want to sell the car, this error is now becoming a problem. Do you have any ideas about this behavior?
