Keyless Go retrofit?

I won't bore, or gross out, the group with the details - but I have a particularly nasty wrist surgery pending in the next several weeks. I'll basically be disabled for the next 6-9 months if I'm lucky. The last several days I've been playing around with operating everything left handed. I've decided that while it isn't essential, keyless Go would be a big convenience for me.

Can it be retrofitted to a 2002 G500 without major expense/alterations?

No, the 463 never offered it as far as I know. Even trying to retrofit to cars that did offer keyless go is insanely cost prohibitive.
Control module, keys, EIS, wiring harnesses, All new door handles and latches, antennas.... Gets stupid expensive in a hurry, then you have to install all of it.

Everything you said is true. In general the parts would have to come from a dead SL or CLK etc to be cheap enough. It turns out that the major sticking point is the door locks - these need to actually fit into your doors. Without it the system is dead.

The main hurdle after that is finding a gear selector from another car that works with your chassis. Not having seen it I couldnt say one way or another but if it takes the same one as W203 then the W209 will fit also.

The EIS - main ignition switch is another matter.

Getting the Keyless Go activated isnt something you can do in isolation. It needs a green key from head office to encrypt the new ignition switch.

If time and money is no object ...... look at spending about 5000 Euro and upwards. Assuming that all the parts fit.

Its a tough job and I know that several times Steve has refused to entertain it. It really does need local dealer involvement.

Fortunately for me the local dealer in Sydney here is open to select clients requesting this modification.

Way too complicated - thanks for the quick response.
