$500 for 1 8in sub + amp installed!??!?!??!
So I took my car into Sound Advice shop to get an estimate of what I could do. I asked the guy for some subwoofer options because I don't know what I can do. I already replaced the head unit with Pioneer Premier p850mp or whatever its called. The guy suggested just leaving the stock subs and everything as is and installing a JL 8 inch sub into floorboard of passenger seat. BTW, he said $80 for sub, and $350 for the box + whatever the amp costs + $55 install for the amp. WTF!?!? That much just for an 8 inch sub!?? You guys have any other suggestons for gettin lounder bass into this car dammit?

I didn't see audio jelly's post in the w203 forum, but I hope he can go fornicate himself!!! Does he have no shame!?!?!?!?! I hate people like that. He's being paid that much, he should know what the hell to do and do one hell of a job for that much, but instead he comes to the forums and asks. At least the guy I talked to told me he has had lots of experience installing subs in floorboards of miatas, porches, and other small cars. It's a JL 8W04 sub.

Not sure what you're looking for within the install but here are some pics of what a local shop in my area has done!

Dads truck (sold)
^^^ That install on my dads old truck would be something I'd expect someone to try on your car as thats the only way i've seen them installed under seats. You could save ALOT of money according to the prices he's given you by doing some of the install yourself! You could also save by buying most of your audio equipment at places like http://www.etronics.com. Etronics is very good as I've bought most of my audio set-up from there! Well I hope I've helped a bit!
