Where to buy Sirius Unit for 05 C230K
Is there any place to buy the factory Sirius unit other than the dealer?
They want $800 for the unit.
I purchased my own unit for my G35 and hooked it up myself for a lot less.
The 05s are prewired for this option.
Any help is appreciated.

Try another dealer. I paid $670 for mine and it includes the 14 months of "free" Sirius service.
THese are OEM parts; I doubt you're going to be able to find them elsewhere. Of course, someone could be selling theirs on ebay.

Try Caliber Motors in Anaheim. They supposedly sell MB parts at wholesale. http://www.calibermotors.com/index2.htm

He went on to indicate that dealer markup on accessories is nominal and they have more room to discount parts like oil filters, brake pads, body parts, etc. The guy told me I'd be just as far ahead to buy from my local dealer and never did offer a price on the Sirius unit.
Better luck to anyone else trying Caliber, and if you get anywhere (perhaps from a different parts person), please post here.

It's funny you mention that. I, too, called Caliber to inquire on the price of a US spec Comand unit for a 2005 C Class.
After exchanging a couple of emails, the parts guy wrote to tell me to contact a certain someone else who imports MB parts from Germany (No, it's not Steve). The Caliber parts guy did not even quote me a price!
I found the whole experience kinda strange.

Just got off of the phone with "a guy" at Caliber. I had a similar experience, too. I was only looking for a shifter with the MB Star on it. The guy started off by lecturing me on "Did you contact your local service center and talk to your SA? It may not fit and changes from year to year." type BS. I just politely hang up on him.....

The thing is when I checked out their website it looks pretty friendly, and I was encouraged by the references to "wholesale parts" and million dollar inventory.
