So many gremlins!

And not the 1970s AMC type...

I've had my 2024 CLE 450 for nearly six months, but only about 2500 miles. With a quarter of that in a three day trip. So not a ton of driving.

In that time...
  • An alert that the car needed service (way ahead of schedule) suddenly popped up and was not clearable. It wouldn't give me more detail than that. I contacted Mercedes help, who indicated they could see a problem but couldn't tell me what it was (I don't know if they couldn't see what either or just not allowed), but that I should head to the dealership. That lasted several errand-runs, including pulling into the dealership. It cleared when I turned the car back on to bring it into the bay.
  • Both displays (dash/instrument and center) went completely dark, staying dark even after turning the car off, locking it, waiting five minutes and retrying. I eventually recovered it by holding the center-display "power" button for a minute, but that's not documented anywhere. I was unable to contact Mercedes help during this.
  • The Dash Cam, having worked fine for the entire time, suddenly (an hour after working fine) was no longer available. Not even "there". USB was fine, and I could scan the files with the Media app. Mercedes help was friendly but could only say everything looked fine and I'd done everything right. Again the situtation lasted for several hours, and then magically cleared up.
Each of these has (so far) only happened once, but they are disconcerting. Is this typical of today's Mercedes, or of a pretty new model, or am I just unlucky?

1. Is it the same as the app?
2. Perhaps the store glitched and thought you don't have dashcam purchased.

I don't understand #1. The Mercedes help-line indicated it still showed purchased on their end. I didn't "enable" it via app to begin with; the feature was included on the sticker.

I just realized I didn't answer all your questions.
1. Is it the same as the app? Mercedes Me/Mercedes-Benz app on the phone
2. Known software issue across several models, forum members are suspecting a flawed update installed across the board, perhaps there is a software fix soon
3. Probably a glitch and the system thought you didn't buy the dashcam yet

Several times now the entire computer system refused to start-up. Remember, I'd called MBUSA about this and had brought the car back to the dealer on it in Jan/Feb.
This time I kind-of forced the phone support people to look at everything. Eventually they determined that there were two outstanding recalls. One from well before I purchased the car, one from shortly before the previous dealer visit. The dealership simply hadn't bothered to check before delivering the car (purchased new), nor when I complained about the computer glitch.
It hasn't failed since getting those done, but only time will tell. Still, I am completely unimpressed with Mercedes' and the dealer's oversights.

Glad it worked out, thanks for letting us know to try the calling method.
