Aftermarket head unit install

Hi,

I have a W208 (2000 CLK 320) i want to add a new head unit to the stock bose system, does anyone know if there is a way to do this without changing the Bose amp or speakers? I know there is a company in atlanta that can do it, but I am a 16 hour drive away. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can install practically anything you want. Why would you have to drive 16 hours away for an install?

I was told by MB dealers taht it is impossible to install an aftermarket Navi on the Benz and to keep the stock Bose system because of the Bose Amp and speakers working at a lower ohms. And also I didnt want anyone cutting up wires I wanted the wiring harnesses.

Thanks

CLK320
i have an avic n1 and it works fine besides a little engine noise that gets through when the nav is talking. Got used to it but the bose amp is fine, and even if it blows worst case sceanrio its another few hundred bucks for a 4 channel amp that will eliminate engine noise. I say go for it, and any audio shop will install it because all you really need is a VW wiring harness.

I think if you look around in this forum you can get all the information you need to install a regular aftermarket stereo in your car. You can even find all the information to install an original navigation system in your car. You still need to take some incentive and search though.

You can add whatever you want. A simple VW harness will wire directly into the system with no worries and power up the Bose system. Where are you located?

So I don't have to worry about an aftermarket head unit being fiber optic or any other BS?? I basically just want to know if it will run through my factory amp & speakers. I have no changer and couldn't care less whether or not I can turn volume up or down from steering wheel.

This is specific head unit I had in mind:

But, any head unit can be installed right??

Thanks
