B Class 180D - (W246) OBD plug stuck in port
Vehicle Mercedes 2016 B Class B180D W246
looking for some advice. I purchased an OBD power cable for a newly fitted dash cam and after fitting the OBDpower plug it seems to be lodged solidly in the socket. When I pushed it home into the socket it was a tight fit but went in and is supplying power to dashcam but realise I would need to unplug for service/doagnostic etc.
Despite pulling and wiggling its very tight and not giving at all. The socket is mounted under drivers footwell and seems to be fixed either side with screws and all mounted in a bigger trim panel which also houses bonnet release. I think i need to remove the OBD socket somehow to get more leverage to try to remove the jammed OBD plug but not sure which way to go? Undo the 2 screws that appeat to be holding the socket or remove the bigger trim panel to get behind the socket for leverage? This bigger trim seems to be bolted in 2 or 3 locations with hex bolts.
Thought I would ask here before I start tampering as I don't want to cause damge to anything behind that trim panel
any advice appreciated
thanks in advance
