Any Idea on ETA for the MY12 C204 Coupes? (2012 Coupe Ordering Guide on Page 2)

A few weeks ago, I placed an order for a MY12 W204 Coupe. My dealer and I spec'd it out in his system and he put my order into MB's queue.

However, there was no price given and no ETA (I confirmed this b/c I was reading his screen the entire time). My dealer still doesn't have any information as to when we can expect the car to be built.

Normally, I'd be pretty patient about this and I really don't need the car anytime soon. But, I'm planning on doing Euro Delivery for it as my vacation this year and I want to do it before the weather starts to turn in Germany. Anyone have any clues as to when production for the coupes will start? I assume after the factory has been retooled.

Thanks.

I've no definitive answer to your query, although MB typically has the line rolling out its subsequent model year iterations no later than July.
Trust you selected the desirable (sporty ;)) options when placing your order. It’ll certainly be a rewarding and memorable getaway to Germany.

Congratulations, nlpamg!

The press release for MY 2012 cars said July today. Of course, I do not know if yours will be ready that quickly. I suspect the July cars may have already been built.

“old people’s package”

Kinda figured you weren’t ditching the M for a ~300 horsepower daily driver - hardly befitting a man of your station.
Curious MB chose to build its current E coupé on W204 underpinnings. Some ill-advised badge engineering tomfoolery IMO.
The tinwork on the new C coupé is definitely easy on the eyes though. Looking forward to your firsthand feedback (and pictures) in due course.

Nonetheless, that new **-* supercar delivery won’t include a Sindelfingen plant tour.
Safe travels amigo!

My dealer just called and said that got confirmation from the Euro Delivery specialists.

Sept. 15 is the earliest that the car will be available for Euro Delivery.

Now I'm still trying to decide whether I should change my order from Arctic White to Mars Red.

I've been debating about the white and I found that they had actual pics on a UK MB dealer's website.

I ordered it in that color with the same wheels. I kinda like it compared to the red.

If all goes fine with financing, price (I still don't have a price), etc. I'll be taking delivery of it in Sept. in Stuttgart.

Options ordered are as follows:
Parktronic
Keyless Go
Lighting Package
Multimedia Package
Premium 1
Drivers' Assistance Package

September is the best month for Germany and Switzerland etc. Kids are back in school but the weather is still good. October can get iffy with fog etc. On the other hand, i picked up my Porsche on October 13 and the weather was still summer-like.

Been there a time or two....

My car was scheduled to be built in July (I placed my order back in April for a 2012 sedan). I noticed that you said you were going to get the Multimedia Package, but didn't your dealer tell you that is not available for US? According to a few dealers I called in SoCal and Jesse from benzblogger.com, the MMI package is not available for July production onwards. Apparently, I had to order the COMAND Launch Package with Rearview Camera as a standalone option. The cost is substantially cheaper and the only feature missing is that instead of an in-dash 6 CD/DVD changer, it's a single in dash CD/DVD slot. Call your dealer and clarify: MMI is not available, only COMAND Launch.
Also, is the Driver Assistance Package SPC? I have the Lane Tracking Package, which includes Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Assist in my order, but not DISTRONIC PLUS and the active systems, found in Driver Assistance

Just like the MMI package, I have a feeling that Driver's Assistance Package is not available; only the COMAND Launch Package and the Lane Tracking Package

awesome! I'm planning on doing the Black Forest-Alps package and then after that's done, drive to Zurich and drop the car off in Geneva.

Hmm... That's odd. I think the sedans and coupes have different packages/options. I wanted to order Diamond White for the car, but when my salesman put the order in, the computer said that it wasn't available after July. I was looking at his screen the entire time when we were putting it together.

Hopefully I don't run into any problems.

I've attached my order sheet that was accepted by MB's system.

My dealer told me the COMAND Launch package will have the 5.8"(400x420) display instead of the 7"(800x400) display.

COMAND Launch comes with a 7" high resolution display. Nplamg, ask your dealer to show you the updated dealer ordering guide. Trust me, the packages have changed. My dealer in Thousand Oaks didn't tell me. I had to call and ask of the information was true and they confirmed and sent me a PDF which had the updated packaging. Coupes and sedans have same packages, just slightly different options, wheels, and P1 is cheaper on the coupe.

Damn. I just sent an e-mail to my dealer.

Do you think you can please forward me the .pdf? nlpamg (AT) gmail.com.

2012 C Class Sedan Ordering

The latest word from my dealer is: The 320pkg in "temporarily unavailable." The replacement is the S32pkg - COMAND Launch Package, which has a 7" screen, but a single disc DVD/CD Changer and does NOT have a rearview camera included. The single CD changer is no big deal as you can load the music to the 10GB music register anyway. The rearview camera (which was a part of the 320pkg) is item #218 as a separate option. I'm paying attention to this as I have a C350 "on order" as well, but the door is not officially open in the U.S. Could be September or even October until this car arrives. The latest Ordering Guide I've seen has May 13, 2011 as "Release Date" on the front page. Let's all keep in touch!

What kind of agreement do you guys have on pricing? My dealer says they'll give me a price on the 2011 and guarantee the '12 will not vary by more than 3% of that price. Or did you not have to ask? :}

To be honest, we have never talked about pricing. I assume the car with the options I chose will be around $48k plus or minus $3k. My dealer also knows that I don't tolerate any markups on MF or APR (whatever I pick).

I've heard from a couple dealers that they aren't going to budge on MSRP when the Coupes come in for the first couple months. I don't know how true that is, but it's irrelevant for me.

I'm doing Euro Delivery, so I assume I'll get the 7% off the total MSRP and no more no less.

Wow $48k? You can get a fairly loaded '11 E-350 for that right now. They are pretty easily found for under invoice at the moment. Getting ready to buy a Merc for my wife - the E has the prestige but the C drove better and was more nimble, easier to park, etc. Can't decide but either way waiting for the '12s in both classes due to engine (E) or interior redesign (C).

A fairly loaded E350? What options? I was looking and for the options I want on the E350, it still came out to be $55k below invoice. Plus, the 350 engine gets a lot more power for 2012.

I just priced out the options for the car and it looks like I picked out $10k worth of options. I doubt the coupe's base price will come in at above $38k.
