Thumbs up Official Picture Thread

I am hoping to clear some of the clutter on the forum about the various threads posting pictures. It would be best to get them all consolidated into one thread to help prevent unique threads from getting bumped, and allowing a thread FILLED with pictures of C204's (C-Class coupes) for everyone to reference, allowing simplicity:

Hopefully we can get a moderator to sticky this thread so that it will stay up top. I will also soon be creating a DIY thread which will reference and comprise of all the various DIY for the C204 (present and future).

Without further delay, here are a few quick iPhone shots, with high-quality ones to follow later once I pick up my C204.

Here is mine, will be putting tints and rims once I receive delivery:
Official Picture Thread-a0cf4859.jpg

It is Arctic White with Almond Interior, I will upload with professional quality images once I actually get it. Exterior wise it also has the lighting package, here is a pic of that up-close:
Official Picture Thread-30a33dc2.jpg

This is my brother's car. It is Diamond White Metallic with black interior and has the 18" twin 5-spoke AMG wheel upgrade, but no lighting package:
Official Picture Thread-7fc7f7f7.jpg

The color is beautiful. During the day you don't notice too much of a difference besides for sparkles or "diamonds in the paint" when compared to arctic. But at sunset and night-time this color REALLY stands out, it looks much creamier. I will get be taking better pictures with the DSLR and next to my arctic white when I pick it up for comparison. But here is a quick iPhone night time shot vs my 2009 c300 4matic artic white:

Official Picture Thread-73d2fc19.jpg

Lastly, just out of curiousity, here is my current w204 before reverted it to stock. I will be re-using these rims and possibly grille and painted tail-light trim if they look good and fit...

Front:
Official Picture Thread-photo-2.jpg

Back:
Official Picture Thread-photo-1.jpg

That's all I have for now. Pics of both coupes during the day Exterior & Interior with DSLR to follow.

EDIT:

Also, because tons of people on this forum were asking about the 8000k vs 5000k LEDs for AZN optics and the color difference, here are a few comparison pics.

In the Eyelids are 8000k, and sidemarker is 5000k:
Official Picture Thread-photo.jpg

8000k is a true "blue" 5000k is a PURE white with a hint/tinge of blue. I would recommend the 5000k to everyone, as the 8000k can be a bit "ricey".

Those AMG wheels make the car look 10X better. I wish there was a way of getting them for less then $2982374987324.

Not a terrible price for replicas, not including tires though... I'm sure you can find replicas form other sources (eBay, other sites) even cheaper. But keep your eyes peeled in the classifieds or on eBay for a slightly used set with tires near that price or slightly higher.

I would NEVER buy replica wheels considering you don't know how reliable they are. Theres nothing that says, if these wheels shatter on a pothole that you'd be covered. Look at what happened with ROTAS wheels [http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/sho....php?t=202203]. BUT you do have a point, I was assuming like most manufacturers that the wheels would be super expensive if you purchase them alone. But regardless my lease is 24 months so it doesnt make sense to buy wheels, then be SOL when it comes time to sell them.

While I used to share the same stance on replicas as you, my experiences on this forum have proved otherwise. It seems that you can't throw them all into the same boat. One replica wheel manufacturer in particular that has had VERY good reception on the w204 sedan forums is PowerWheels Pro. In fact, I believe they are even a sponsor on these forums. I acutally forgot about them until you asked about quality.

Here is their listing for the mercedes-benz replicas (including ///AMG):
http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/index.php?cPath=23

They come with a great warranty and a great price. I believe the rims on the coupe are either style 831 or very similar.

Here is a quote from PowerWheels Pro on another thread on these forums on quality: "Our wheels exceed all international quality specs, and on some molds, even the notoriously hard TUV specs, which involves impact testing. I know of NO other aftermarket wheels that pass those specs.

At this point I feel I need to share this with you http://youtu.be/Si2OuQeVbbc
In short it is a video of a serious issue involving defective OEM AMG wheels.

Our wheels come with a vibration guarantee no questions asked.

I firmly believe no one should have to put up with any vibration whatsoever. We have shipped many many sets and have NEVER had any issues with our Mercedes wheels.

In fact, we will not only give you a refund on the wheels if they shake, we will also cover shipping there and back, something that NO other wheel company does as far as I know. My focus is to make purchasing wheels from us a 0 risk experience for all our customers.
"

All of the feedback from other forum members has been positive too, so you know its not just B.S. and fake testimonials. Also, I too worried about buying rims on a leased car. But I feel that these rims are stylish enough to look good on any future car you have. Not to mention, that I probably will continue leasing mercedes after mercedes, so it definitely pays off for me...

Lastly, not even mercedes-benz or ///AMG wheels will cover against bends due to potholes. I know as I have had a stock rim on my old c230 bend and crack due to a pothole (that wasn't even bad). Not even aftermarket rim companies provide this warranty either. I have rims that cost $275 EACH and (2) have developed some pretty serious bent lips (one rim even has two separate areas where the lip is bent). They do not cover this damage.

So to me the question is like this. If you can get replica rims for 1/2 the price, with the same standards being meet (TUV certification) that is a U.S. based-company using quality steel, with a GREAT warranty that is just as good as mercedes-benz factory warranty. Why not? Even if the rim shatters, you can replace ALL 4 rims and still be at the cost of the ///AMG upgrade...

Nice pics. I think you're the first steel grey coupe that I've seen pics of. Congrats on the new ride.

Yeah, looks great. I have not yet seen steel grey (pictures or in person). I would have liked to see one before I got mine. But the deal on my arctic white coupe was too good to pass up!

CoupeDeta,

Your MB Tex Interior is making me reconsider the full leather option for the red leather. Looks GORGEOUS!

Yeah, this MB-tex really is awesome. Personally, I like it BETTER than the leather, especially since it is so resistant to wear and tear. It is also a MAJOR improvement over the previous facelift MB-text. That was kind ahard a felt like vinyl. But now, I am 99% sure that nobody will even realize it isn't leather. It is smooth and soft, yet durable. I would save the money and go with it... Only thing about the leather package I like (besides the color obviously) is that you get a power and memory passenger seat.

Where as without it, you get a fully manual seat. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me, this isn't a Honda... I think MB dropped the ball a bit there. It should at least have power front and back, and then have the leather option add memory or lumbar, etc.

Hey CoupeDeta, nice pics. Did you take that last dark gray with lighting package at Penske? I think you got the last c250 with those options in SoCal. I was originally going to get that one last Friday, but found a silver one with the same options at the last moment from another dealer:

I have the same build as CoupeDelta and the passenger has power recline and I think the seats adjust in height too, but yeah no power front back.

Kevin,

What color is your interior? Looks great! Is it Ash MB-Tex or the upgraded Sahara Beige leather? Can't tell! Also, the MB site says that the DRIVER seat has power adjustments standard (is this not true?)

It's ash. The pictures make it look a little beige because my camera sucks. Again it's more of a white/gray. I posted more pics in that other thread you created.

Thanks Glyn - Didn't know you were a moderator!!

More pics coming of both my C250 coupes later. Also, I am nearly done creating the content for the interior lighting mod DIY, hopefully, once I get that filled in, we can get the DIY thread stickied.

Glyn, is it best to create separate threads and then have the link to each DIY thread in one stickied thread (so we don't have a million stickied threads for every DIY). And if so, is it possible to allow infinite edits on such a thread, so that the original post can be consistently updated with new DIY content links?

Here is a picture of my old "SL-Style" grille I had from my pre-facelift w204 c300 4matic. I kinda just put it on to see if the pre-facelift grilles fit the coupes, the answer is "kinda".

The bottom support tabs line-up and fit perfectly, as do the two side protruding cylinders that snap and lock in. However, the t-bar that sits behind the MB-Star on the coupes isn't as wide as it is on the pre-facelift w204. As such, you can't snap those two pegs into the holes on the backside of the grille.

I feel that the grill is definitely "secure enough", to the point where I am going to just leave it and call it a day. But if you go to press where the mb-star is, particularly, the top part of it, you do get some "flex". So it isn't as rigid or supportive as I would like. Just give a little extra care when washing.

Anyways, here is the pics. The SL-style is kinda similar to the new c63 coupe grille, but doesn't have the chrome surround, and this particular one has a some-what ugly solid star instead of the see-through. This is an older version, they have newer ones now where it uses the OEM Mercedes star (and I even saw one that is a C63 coupe replica). But they will also have this same t-bar support issue. As will any grille unless it is made SPECIFICALLY for the c-class coupe!

Official Picture Thread-82042578.jpg

Also, here are two pictures of the AZN Optics LED reverse light I installed. I will try to get some better hi-quality (non-iPhone) pics soon!

Official Picture Thread-884f98a5.jpg

Official Picture Thread-56f5bab7.jpg

And Finally, just a quick shot of my MPG on my last trip. I would say probably 80% highway, 20% city driving. I am VERY impressed, this is because I am expecting these numbers to increase for two reasons. First, I am still in the break-in process, and my pre-facelift w204 c300 had TERRIBLE gas mileage for the first few hundred miles or so. Secondly, because it was Freezing out, and I'm still on my original tank from the dealer, which is probably regular octane gas... lol.

Official Picture Thread-e24a1eb1.jpg

EDIT:

Also, just wanted to add that you were indeed right about the passenger seat on non-leather equipped vehicles. I just went off of what my brother said, but today sat in it to play around. It appears that you do get two power passenger (although, for two of the most useless movements...). First is backrest tilt, and second is leg rest tilt. These are power. However, to move the seat frame forward and back, you have to use the lever (like a civic). There is also a GIANT knob for adjusting the seat height.

It would be one thing if they gave us a fully manual seat. But I think the fact that they gave us two-way power is stupid. It would have been awesome if it was power for forward back and backrest tilt. But it has backrest tilt and leg rest tilt. Who needs leg rest tilt! Especially since the controls LOOK like you have power front and back, it confuses the CRAP out of people, even me!

Heck, I would have rather had 1-way power standard front and back, and had a lever for backrest... But having to pull your chair forward or back with the lever is just -- stupid. Thats probably the one movement people use most, I don't think any of my passengers even adjusted their backrest or legrest tilt in ANY car I have ever had (which came standard btw...) WTF MB? BRB while I log on generationbenz and give MBUSA a piece of my mind...

34.6 mpg... I'm loving this car even more. The best I've seen in mine is 31mpg for the 5 days I've had it. I'm going for the coveted 37mpg as shown on the window sticker.
