Do people stare at you?

I was just talking to Ryan9095 about this, and thought I'd see what other peoples experiences were.

Have you seen another C-Coupe on the road? (no, your brother's car doesn't count jctevere

Do you find people staring and pointing at your car when you drive around town? (happens regularly for me)

Do you garner unusual amounts of attention at places like the carwash? (the carwash guys always cluster around the car and ask me questions when I pull in)

I have two co-workers who are in the process of buying one since seeing mine. It's kinda crazy...

Funny, I notice that from the bimmer drivers too. One other thing I've noticed about owning my first German car. There's definitely a camaraderie among all the German brands on the road. BMWs and Audis always like to play with me

Funny story, I look a lot younger that I really am so the first time I got a strange look from a family filled car that I parked next to. I got out of the car and the grandma was looking right at my face that caught me off guard. I had a feeling she was thinking wth I was doing in new benz. I just kept walking.

Then today when parking some place else, I got another one of these wth looks from a teenager that I parked next to. Touched the handle to lock my door and kept walking haha.

Ha, I get those looks sometimes too. I'm 28 but could pass for 23. Still pretty young for your average MB owner. In Orlando though, it's not uncommon to see 20 year olds in new BMWs or MBs, but I get leered at a bit more in the touristy areas on the outskirts of the city.

Another funny thing, when I picked up the car from the dealer my sales guy told me that I was a breath of fresh air. He didn't really have much to show me that I didn't already know. He told me "you have no idea how much patience it takes to teach a 70 year old how to use COMAND" lol

I posted some pics on facebook last Friday and the next day I went to a new years party and these two chicks that I used to not really talk to are suddenly hounding me to take shots all night. Lets just say I didn't make it to the new years count down haha. Chicks love the car.

Big difference in people's attitude coming from an 2001 altima.

Yes, I have had quite a few guys in CLK's give me the thumbs up, and a few guys working at petrol stations tell me that it's a beautiful car.

Interesting topic

The 1st time I test drove a C Class coupe I did find myself being looked at by alot of by standers and people in other cars, there was one especially envious looking gent in the VW dealership which is next door to my MB dealers lot.

And when I spot another new C Class coupe on the road, it's me doing the staring LOL

it's funny, even though it's just a C-Class, I've noticed quite a few people checking out the car and have gotten a few thumbs up. I figured it was since the car was pretty new and it was debadged. but, it doesn't get the crazy looks, cell phone pics, people chasing and falling over themselves that the GT-R does.

Haha, yeah, I do get TONS of stares and looks. I've even had a few people come up to me at 7-eleven to personally compliment me on the car. Usual comments like "beautiful car" or "congratulations - enjoy!".

As far as seeing other coupes on the road - no. I did ONCE in NYC traffic, but only for about 5 seconds before it got lost in the mob. However, I do see TONS of 2012 sedans. I'm really happy I got the coupe. I suspect that I will be able to enjoy this "exclusivity" for at least another couple of months. At least in my area - 4matic is the holy grail, and i've NEVER seen any sedans that weren't c300 4matics (pre-facelift OR 2012).

So perhaps people are passing up on the coupes becuase of the lack of 4matic? Who knows...

People I see staring down my car on the road are the ones you would expect to stoplight race (well, not so much in the C250, but if I still had my G37) - genesis coupe, g35/g37 sedans or coupes, 3-series, 1-series, Audi, etc.

Some surprising head turners are S-class owners. Particularly the latest refresh. They probably get confused when they see their style front turn signals behind them (with my bi-xenon package) and then notice the LED "c-shapes" followed by the sexy coupe form factor. Or at least I would to think...

I never get stares with my cars. Up near Beverly Hills and Bel Air, most people have a new E or S class and it's not shocking to see a few SLS AMG's on a 10-20 minute drive or other exotics. A Mercedes is almost NOTHING compared to the other cars where I live and drive around, but it means a lot to me...Most people stare at the Maybachs, AMG's, and other exotics. E classes, S classes, and especially C classes, are very commonplace. I drive a Mercedes, not a Bugatti lol not expecting that many stares

I live in Richmond Hill and the coupe is a bit rarer, but i see at least 10+ 2012 c-classes a day, usually at least 2-3 coupes

and i think I saw 4-5 plated coupes at the dealership today which I guess are customers visiting etc

I live in Richmond Hill area and I rarely see another c-coupe around the area. However, I do see many "demo" cars people take to test drive around.

I have to agree. In LA it seems like almost everybody owns a C, E, or S. Drive down Newport beach and you will see several SLS, SL65's and CL65's, and other exotics within couple blocks from each other. I feel like I have a nice car but nobody will even give the car a second look....so I envy you guys

I had a guy in a 5 series undressing my car with his eyes front to back at a light for a good 5 minutes while we were waiting...dude was glued to it! But otherwise, yes, I get some looks. I've only seen 2 other coupes riding around so far and I've had my car since December.

I'm in Toronto too; just had my first weekend with my new C250 Coupe and I did notice a few heads turn while on the roads this weekend. I saw a black one on the DVP and it caught my attention too.
