okay here is what I did:
1. I used a blackberry 9700
2. Turn the car on
3. Go to engineering menu
4. Go to 7.7.19 and TURN IT ON
5. Go to 7.7.51 and 7.7.52 and TURN IT ON
6. Turn off command and remove key from your car, open and close door and wait for 30-60 seconds till the CPU of the car shuts down
7. Turn on the car and command and you will see there will be a globe besides the SYSTEM menu (right side of system menu, below the compass heading, upper right side)
now the fun part....
8. connect your phone (in my case blackberry 9700). DON'T do anything SH*T on your phone settings, just pair it like anything else.
9. Click the globe icon and it will open a new window and menu
10. Click on SETTINGS (lower left of the command display)
11. You have to find your country on the list on my part it is CANADA
12. A bunch of providers will show up (I chose Rogers as that is my provider)
13. I chose to dissable the tether connection indefinitely before I click BACK
14. The globe nemu will now go back and will let you type in the web address you want to go too (just like inputing on the NAV destination). I tried to go to yahoo.com (I accidentally typed yahooo.com but it corrected it automatically)
15. When you are finish on the address link hit OK
16. It will dial up using your phone to access your wireless data (wait for 1-2 minutes for everything to finish). It might cycle 2 times and do not hit cancel.
17. It will say "configuring data connection"
18. Then a blank white sceen will appear showing a status bar above it (it will show a red orange status bar AKA how much it is loading)
19. After a few moments of anticipation (I clocked it at a full 35 seconds to load). I saw KIM KARDASHIAN DESPERATE FOR A BABY....YES!!!(not to Kim but to the web browser working)
I'll try to use it tom. as it is 12:35 in the morning here and freaking cold outside (6 degrees) and see how if this internet thing is worth while having or just stick to your mobile phones for internet.
******DON'T BLAME ME IF THIS DOESN'T WORK WITH YOUR CAR OR IF IT BRICKED YOUR CAR SO BE VERY CAREFULL******

shotgun_banjo, what year is your car? 09?
Also, if you are on a website that has sound (pandora, youtube, google music, etc) does the sound play through the cars sound system?
I'm assuming you can use the command center to move the mouse and click on things?

It's a 2012 C350 coupe. I am trying to figure out how to enable the internet on the 09 car as it is grayed out. I haven't had the chance to play around with it as the wife took the c350 to work. I'll let you know when I get my hands on the car again and go to those websites that contain videos and such and will see if it work on the command unit. You can move around using the command knob and click things.

I do hope not as well as I want to enable this feature on my 09 c300 and 11 GLK as I see the internet(Jp) being grayed out on both cars. I already tried changing the region to Japan to see if that will let me select the internet(Jp) menu but no luck on that one as well.

Websites like youtube won't let you view and hear the videos and audios. So it will only be meant for browsing.

2013 C350 Coupe
Considering the lack of support for this and the slow speed it doesn't even sound worth it to get on the Internet in COMAND. Sounds more frustrating then fun.

I'm a little confused - if you are able to get the car connected to the net, can COMAND get access to MB Apps in addition to the web search function? I own a US C204 and am really interested in getting it online if I can get access to MB APPS.

I set my system up a couple of months ago (to a Blackberry 9800). There is one big issue that shotgun banjo didn't have to deal with....he's in Canada, and there is no code for any US carrier (ATT, Verizon, Sprint, etc). So I got all of the screens that he shows, but it just won't connect up to a service provider. I gave up and just reset the diagnostic screens back to the original configuration.

Resurrecting this old thread but I have a 2013 C250 Sport with the Comand system and I don't get that settings menu. I have the Sirius menu to the left of the WWW menu.
I've tried putting my phone into Bluetooth Internet Connection Sharing but nothing happens.
I guess there isn't much use anyway as a smartphone is 10,000x more capable. I suppose it's mostly there for the Connect me service?

I hope this chain is still alive.
I need your help, guys! With the help of this chain, I was able to turn on the browser in my 2013 E550. However, when I went to the Settings, I couldn't find USA in the list of countries (as my car is a canadian car). Therefore I am not able to use my iPhone as a modem and access the internet.
Would you advise on how to add US ATT iPhone to the list?
When adding a new provider manually, it asks for Provider, Tel Number, Access Point etc. What should I enter in those fields?
Thanks in advance.
