Brake noise
#27
Okay boys, update time. So I sent a formal letter to Steve Cannon, CEO of MB-USA and his office called me a couple of days later. I told them I was tired of this issue and that I didn't care who was to blame just that I wanted my car fixed. Ironically enough I was headed to the dealership when I got this call. They responded by letting me know that they would contact the dealership manager and service department.
I gave in my car and they agreed to put on the brake quiet solution on all 4 pads. I did notice in the service receipt that they sanded down the brakes as well. I'm confident because of my letter that this issue will recieve MUCH more attention than it has, and it could possibly lead to a new TSB for other owners who have been experiencing this problem. Needless to say, you could certainly use this information to appeal to your service adviser and let them know that this NEEDS to be fixed.
So far so good, after driving the car for a mile or two I have found it to be quiet and I don't hear any noise. I hope it stays like that.
Here's a copy of my service receipt:

New Brake Pad
Update on this one: the dealer replaced new pads in the rear yesterday. Besides the brakes respond so fast that it feels wierd, there is no noise so far.
Thanks to all that explain this issue to MB, they seems to acknowlege the issue.

2012 C250 Coupe
Forgot about this thread. My brother also had his C250 Coupe's brake pads replaced because of the squeaking/noise issue and it has not came back. I believe if it is under 1 year or 12,000 miles they will replace pads free.
My C250 Coupe did not have this issue and have been noise free for 15k miles now.

2012 C250 Coupe w/ AMG Package
Anyone experiencing the brakes making noise on their c coupe? Had mine for 2mnths now and it's making terrible a squeeling, its embarassing!
I clean it regularly so it's not brake dust/dirt etc.
Spoke to Mercedes and having it looked into later this month. The guy said they've been hearing this a lot with the 2012 models, so wondering if anyone here has had problems?

GL-350 Screeching
Recently acquired a loud screeching noise from the left rear wheel on my 2013 GL-350. After isolating the source to the wheel/brakes, I removed the wheel and discovered that a small rock had become wedged between the rotor and heat shield. It was pretty easy to fix, and now the noise is gone. I'll try to post a before and after video. Look for the rock in the before. It doesn't take much to make a terrible sounding noise!

Just curious, what solutions worked for everyone?
ive been to several dealerships and even an indy and theyve replaced parking brake parts (just a spring i think) and pretty much thats it. another time they told me something was adjusted.
if the parking brake id the culprit, its a serious design flaw. i never use.mine, though im wondering if the occassional use might help (if theyre anything like traditional parking brakes).

So annoying
I have always had this issue too and the dealership told me I had to break them in. 2.5 years later still awful and embarrassing.

I've been to the dealership THREE times for this issue, and each time they did something, and the problem persists.
So...for all warranty issues, I have to go several times, and it is still never fixed. German engineering?
I bought my C250 because I worked on my 1972 280SEL and fixed so many things, and was so impressed by what I saw in regards to build quality. Now I feel like every domestic car I've bought, many new and a few used, is worlds better than this 2013.
