WHY GOD WHY: 4mo wait, now wait more
My C250 coupe finally arrived after a 4 month wait (lighting package).
I went to sign the papers Wednesday night so my wife could feel like part of the process picking up the car on Saturday when she was available.
After signing, I got the idea to check the specs. Turns out even though the order sheet said "AMG 7-Spoke" the car they sent had split 5 spoke wheels.
Mother*******!!!!
There's another car at the port which they can swap wheels/ tires with, but it won't be one time for Saturday.
Very apologetic dealer offered me a e-class loaner, but WTF!
I don't need the loaner, I just wanted my f'in car! What would you guys ask for instead?

take the car, and when the other car comes in, swap them. if it's only a few hundred miles, no harm done as long as you don't do any damage to the wheels. any sedans or other coupes they can swap with on the lot?

That is his only option and of course he's going to do that but you miss his point. He want everything to be perfect on Saturday so he and his wife can have a wonderful experience of buying a new car. He can't do that now because the Mercedes messed up, so the dealer should really throw in something to make it up for him. Ask for the spoiler.

Lucky you are not buying an M Class from Tuscaloosa. Friend in Dallas ordered full house & I mean full house last November. Suspension, Distronic the lot. He will get his car from Park Place Dallas in August. Not happy!

i think you should be happy, the fault has probably not occured at the dealership and they are generous giving you a way more expensive car. sure I understand your frustration but where people work mistakes are made.

I feel our pain.... After waiting for mine (with lighting package) for a month, there was a mix-up. But the dealer made up for it by getting me a similar car with the lane assist package for no extra charge. At the very least, you should ask for a rear spoiler. Maybe you can get them to lower your car!

they were giving him an E class, I would still want my car, on my delivery date, and not a loaner. If I signed paperwork for my car, I don't want it sitting on a dealers lot for however long just collecting dust. Take your car, drive it till the wheels come in, and get something out of them like the spoilers, 3 year maintenance package, or something like that for the inconvenience and screw up. do not agree to take a loaner car.
that's just my opinion.

awesome! looks great man!
my dillema was similar, but I worked for the dealership. I was supposed to get a car from our sister store with a set of really nice gunmetal 19's. sticker listed 5 spokes. car came with neither, but it had the 7 spokes. i talked to my new and pre owned manager, said if you find a car with the wheels you want, we will swap as long as the tpms sensors work. found a 2011 c300 on our pre owned lot, brand new pirelli's, wheels in great condition, even swap and I'm done!

I'm in love with this car.
- 27+ real world MPG (once you have four, you never want more)
- lighting package looks/works AMAZING
- comfort access works like a dream especially when wearing gloves and a heavy coat
- everybody comments the styling is hot (it is)
