DRL and rear fogs

DRL and rear fogs
I just picked up my car two days ago and went to check it out at night with the headlights on. I noticed the daytime running lights weren't on at all and I thought they were supposed to be dimmed down with the headlights on. I did however have the rear fogs on. When I turned off the rear fogs the dimmed drls came on. Any reason why we are trying to be seen better from behind but not from the front?
Seems odd to me. Thoughts?

no, we do have rear fogs in the US. I don't know why it turns off the DRL/LED strips though, it is odd.

My car I am pretty sure has A rear fog light. It is a row of leds that light up over the driver side rear tail light. Probably 5 bulbs. Anyone else check this out?

correct, that is the rear fog.

Has anyone else tested this? I want to see if other peoples drls go out when the rear fog is on, or is it just me?

my front LED DRL's go off when you turn on the rear fog light as well.
