Sooo.. the intake made it to Moscow today (2 weeks since order). I guess I might be the fisrs in Russia.
Installed it straight away, was not sure how coz didn't find the manual on the website/in the box. Since I had experience setting up Race Chip Pro, everything came out to be very easy. 3 screws out, 3 crews in. As well as the others I spent some time connecting parts, it was easier on hot engine, but had to wear gloves.
The sound is as shown in the video, even sexier when you hear it live - like it a lot. Will see if there is any power increase, have to run some tests with Dynolicious app.

Just installed intake and jb+ tune but I'm getting the "check engine amber icon". How do I get rid of it?

Have you driven the car after you installed the two items? When you initially turned the car on was the check engine light illuminated? Did you turn up the dial on the JB+?

These are all details we need to know...

Installed both intake and tune at same time. Left dial at stock (did not even open cover). Not sure if check engine light was already on when turned on car.

I did though have the "3 prong" friction connector upside-down when I tried to start the car (the connector that's in the MIDDLE of the jb+ harness). Car would crank and turn off a second later. Did this about three times before finding out that it was upside-down. After putting it in correct position car cranked successfully but now has check engine light. So come to think of it, I'm sure this is why I'm getting check engine. Should I disconnect negative terminal on battery?

I would make sure all of the connections are properly attached. Make sure all the hoses and the fasteners are tight on the intake. Be careful because mistakes like that can cause damage to your car.

I Highly doubt that this would cause any damage. You just threw a code most likely. But than again who knows.

Are you able to get a code reader and see what its for? That would make everything a lot easier.

Loose connections in the intake means your engine is breathing in dirt. Improperly connected wires means you could short out a fuse or blow some crucial electric component. I think that's enough to worry about.

I don't have access to code reader.

Where is the negative terminal to the battery located (top left engine bay?)? I want to try to disconnect that first to see if it gets rid of the light.

Drive the car for a day or two and let the CEL reset itself. Or just unplug the car battery for 20mins and restart. CEL should be gone.

Another issue while I was driving to work this morning:

Turned on car this morning and car was running fine until I hopped on the freeway and accelerated moderately hard (4500-5000rpm) to 75-80mph. After that the car felt like it lost all acceleration power (limp mode?). I would floor it all the way and the car would not accelerate. RPM's would go up to 3-4k but it was taking forever to get up to speed, like I was towing something heavy.

No CEL light came on.

After getting off the freeway 30 miles later, I turned off the car then back on again and suddenly everything was back to normal. Anyone experience this issue? I think it was the hard acceleration that brought it to limp mode.

Again this is with intake and jb tune at stock settings.

loss power

Same thing happened here this morning on drive to work. I too have intake and JB+. It was raining. Accelerated onto highway and then lost power, car slolwly accelerated as if being held back. Stopped and restarted and ok from then on. No CEL before or after. Don't know if wet roads had anythingto do with it.

It was about 65 degrees for me in clear weather when it happened.

Since you guys are new, give it a week or two for ECU to learn driving habits and stuff. I was having the same issue, your over-boosting and when that happens, the ecu greatly reduces power (airflow) to the turbo and your in limp mode (to prevent any damage) to turbo or parts. Shut car off, for a minute or two, and limp mode goes away. Keep car off for 20 minutes or so to get rid of the CEL, if it turns on.

When I first got the tune, the limp mode would happen to me everytime I went WOT. Now, after driving hard in "S" mode for a while, the overboost CEL does not come on and I haven't hit limp mode for about a month now 1/2 now.

Thanks for the info Dame. How is your highway mpg after driving it after a few weeks? For the past 2 days with the tune and intake, I'm getting around 26mpg highway with light traffic, used to get 29. Will it take some time before I get better mileage?

My MPG on the highway went up right away. Your lower MPG is probably due to you driving harder since you have the intake and tune installed now... Just set the cruise control and you can easily get 30-35+mpg on the highway.

As for the CEL, it happens when you get the overboost "limp mode" reccuringly or "bad enough". I just got a code scanner to manually reset it, but apparently it goes away by itself too.

I have never got the Overboost limp mode on teh stock settings, only when I turned it up... I also agree that it takes a while for the car to get used to the extra power I think. I find that driving it hard without WOT will make you go into over boost mode sooner/more frequently.

I do mostly city driving and I checked the mpg this morning and I am getting 26.8 per gallon. I think that is very good considering my last car only got 15mpg city driving, and I drive hard.

Drove to work this morning in almost no traffic and got 29mpg in my 30 mile drive--I drove lightly. Normally I can hit 31-mpg in same traffic conditions. Will see how it goes after a few weeks of driving--maybe ecu is still learning.

Loving the tune and intake so far though. No longer struggles turning up into a hill and throttle response is better. Blow off (?) sounds great.

not sure if the intake made a difference in power.. even if it does .. probably very minimal..

i was probably one of the first to get the intake and a tip for install.. heat up your stock pipe with a blow dryer or you'll have a **** time fitting it in.

only reason i got the intake was for the sound.. it sounds fukin amazing.. every time you let go of the throttle you get a nice hiss.. nothing as loud as my evo's blow off but definitely a turbo air dump.. had a many people turn heads on street and probably go wtf is that a turbo c class? lol

and please don't call it blow off sound because it's not.. most turbo cars with a cone filter have this sound.. like audis and the new bmw 4 banger.. you were just never able to hear it before because the filter was in a box..

try driving the car with out a filter at all.. just open intake pipe.. that'll really blow your mind

Ordered, installed, then un installed , my car is having a lot of vibration problems with the engine so at a stand still the intake makes my car sound awful, it sounds pretty good when accelerating but I'm not to sure of the tuner type of sound you get out of it, but a very noticeable improvement

Do yourself a favor and either uninstall the JB+ or turn it down to the exact point where Burger motorsports left the dial. Your car is reacting negatively to you messing around with the tune.
