Great write up KKD79... I got a few questions though... I tried installing 6k as well on my 2013 C-250 and mines are flickering. Do you know if DDM tuning's hid ballast is DC or AC current? Have you tried installing it without the error code eliminator. And was the hid beam flickering before you installed the hid without the eliminator.

It should be noted that the metal clip that holds the bulbs has to be cut to fit over the new bulbs. The DDM kit's wiring is simply to large to fit through the clips opening. Because this changes the rigidity of the clip it can be super glued to the plastic base of the new bulb. This in turn will make it much easier to reinstall the bulb.

Depending on what type of HID kit you have, you will need to manipulate the wiring harness to fit through the opening of the stock metal clip and the dust cap
If you can get the wires through the opening of the stock metal clip, the reinstall is the same as the factory setup no need to modify anything

Please share then how you got the clip through the plastic base of the bulb and/or other end of the wires with the plastic clips. Be as specific as you can.

One wire at a time, it takes some forceful manipulation of each wire connector tip to go through the clip opening. I didn't bend, scratch, cut, or break anything.

You can't slide it over the bulb because of the base 1. The wire ends in 2 barely just barely might fit. Wire end 3 is almost the size of the metal retaining clip itself. So I still can't figure how you would have fed the wires through. Am I missing something here?

I know I am functionally illiterate but here is the end [#3 from previous pic]. So once again how did you get that through the opening in the retainer clip? Tell us Houdini

The connector in your picture is too big and of course can NOT go through the metal clip, the wires at the other end of that connector will go through just fine. Pull the wires out of the rubber grommet and thread back through after.

2013 C250 COUPE
i just received my kit..and look forward to the install this long weekend...
does the ballast get warm?..look like there is enough space inside the housing to put everything inside the headlight assembly. without having the ballast dangling from the
lamp cover.
i was thinking of zip tieing foam around the ballast to deaden any vibrations.. putting everything inside for a cleaner look.
let me know if the ballast does get warm...thanks.

did my install this past weekend, and i love it. when i ordered from DDM Tuning, i didnt know whether to get 5000k or 6000k, so I got both. I put in the 6000k for now, then i'll switch out and use the 5000k then see which one i like better.
thanks kkd79 for this thread, helped SO much.

Please aim your headlights lower when installing HID Kits as the top part of the light cut-off does blind other drivers. I lowered my beams to lowest setting. You still get a lot of visibility but most important is that you don't blind other drivers. The glare from the HIDs in non projector housing are pretty bad.
I am only stating this as I was following a friend after I first did my HID install and he complained about the glare. After aiming the lights to lowest setting, we went on a road trip and I followed him, he stated it looks much better and was not blinding him :-)
