Downgrading?

With the list of cars you say you owned why would you be interested in the bottom low end model C250. Everything you listed was high end models I would think you be asking about the C350 or the C63.

Hello and welcome

If you've come this far in your selection/decision process for this vehicle I say definitely go forwards and acquire the car.

It's a fantastic all round package, all things considered and more than matches up to its direct competitors on a variant vs variant comparo.

I'm 10 months in on ownership of mine and nearly 20,000km travelled distance and still love it as much now as on day one !

Specifically speaking regarding mine it's the diesel C250-CDI variant fully loaded with full options list as available in the Australian market place and it was exactly the variant choice and final configuration I wanted in the C Coupe range, that part of the selection/decision process will vary from individual to individual for their own reasons, so if your set on the C250 variant then I'm sure you won't be dissapointed, the only advice I would give is if you can afford it then get the car optioned up as much as possible it makes a huge difference from a base or bare bones example to one having all the 'bells and whistles' and you won't regret all the added features that are on offer, it really makes the car more of an enjoyable and luxurious experience to drive with all the additions

Best of luck, hope all goes well

2013 c250 coupe
I've had mine since Jan of this year, I love the car so far. Something I must add, it comes standard with a lot of great things that other competitors neglect to offer. I.e, sport pedals, illuminated door cups and the second door handle, memory driver seat, and a few more I can't think off top. I previously had an IS250 and I will say the c250 surpass the IS by far. Very great car, the lighting package is a must have (makes a BIG difference). The excellent mileage is just the icing on the cake. Good luck.

Not sure how old your daughter is but I'm 16 and I just got my C250 (sedan) in december. So far it's amazing! The only thing I don't like is the standard headlights (non-lighting package) and the turbo lag that is less noticeable over time. Otherwise I love it since not only is it a super cool first car but I feel very safe in it when I'm around school and other crazy drivers.

If its for your daughter the C250 would be fine I would do the same. The c350 might be to much power.

Thanks for ur comments!
Yea for the daughter; the other contenders are an Audi TTS which is not the best since its cramped and the view is not good(seats too low and hood is high) and blind spots. Golf R which i really like and Abarth 500. Like the C250 and the Golf R for her.
So Matt-erhorn do the kids like that you have a Merc?

Had my 2012 c250 for 20,000 miles.

Bad:
Blind spots are bad--get the blind spot assist. I have to turn my head ALL THE WAY to my 5 and 7 to check my blind spots--cannot be lazy checking blind spots with this car because c pillar really blocks view. Sedan model is better with blind spots.

Turbo lag is noticable for my 2012 model, but when I drove a 2013 c250 sedan, there was virtually no turbo lag and felt like a completely different engine--they may have fixed it for 2013. If you test drive, do some lane passing tests to see if the lag is satisfactory otherwise it could be dangerous for your daughter if she is not used to turbo lag.

Good:
Good straight line braking when you slam on brakes from high speed (ex: someone slams brake in front of you on freeway, this car won't break loose and will brake in straight line. Happened to me a few times.

Good agility and traction. Had to turn very hard once at about 30mph to avoid t-boning an idiot coming out of a driveway that didn't look before turning out. Car surprising maintained good control with no skidding.

Good highway MPG. In light traffic I can get about 35mpg on a 30 mile trip. I've seen it hit 36-37mpg doing 60-65mph. My combined mpg with a light foot is about 31-33mpg per fill up (10% city, 90%highway 30 mile trip one way to work in light/medium traffic). Shorter trips won't get you good mpg.

Sorry, just saw this reply. But shockingly like 5 others have C250's at my school, but being the only guy. I get lots of looks especially with my mods, lol one person told me I have a nice C63
