There are some screws on the black mesh, screw them out, mesh pops off and then led and chrome trim should easily come off after that. I wrapped my chrome led trim in black plastidip.

The 3 screws are clearly visible and require a T25 Torx bit for removal.

Hey guys, I swear I'm not an idiot. But my DRL assemblies do not have torx screws at ALL and I have no idea how to get them off. I have a 2012 C300 Sport and the DRL that I've seen countless threads and videos on all have 3 or 4 torx screws somewhere in the "black" housing on the DRLs, but mine simply has NONE and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get them off. The reason I want them off is to tie into the power to run my new lighted star I bought. If you guys have a better suggestion for how to get it power that comes on when the car comes on, easy for a somewhat novice car guy, then I'd sure appreciate any advice. Thanks!!!

This is what I'm saying - there are absolutely no mesh screws in my black surrounding. I know what a screw and screw-hole looks like, and there are literally ZERO screws in my black mesh housing surround the chromed DRL. I am attaching a picture. So how in the heck am I supposed to get these off?

See - not a torx screw in sight.

hey,

I have the same issue in my 212, no screws, they’ve changed it at some point. Now, to change broken light, or remove the trim (which is held by 4 clips only - but accessible from behind unfortunately) - the procedure is much easier and screws are not destroying the look!

The steps are super quick and easy:

1) jack the car up
2) remove the wheel
3) remove the wheel cover, try not to break the plastic nuts…
4) unscrew the small side engine cover
5) unscrew the small engine cover from the big engine cover
6) before 5) and 4) figure out how to mount them back together, record and play backwards
7) now you can unclip the light assembly

As easy as that I don’t know who allowed to do that thing. There should be something to access from underneath at least if the screws were problematic…
