I use a Valentine One with the remote signal sending unit mounted under the ashtray cover. Great setup.

Was talking to someone and he said the new Escorts (the high priced ones, $500) dont interfere with the DISTRONIC systems. Any truth to that?

I read a review which stated that his 2014 S class windows were blocking the signal or something like that. You guys dont have any problems? I was leaning towards the Escort over the Valentine

I have a V1 and I get false alarms all the time but it really depends on where you drive. When I go back home to CA, I live in the SGV and get false alarms everywhere because everyone has blind spot assist. I don't mind because either you know where the false alarms are or driving next to a car with triangles in their side mirrors.
I don't notice any signal blocking from my C coupe, the new S class is completely different to our cars.

I am using Escort Passport's for many years, different models and price on different cars. In general they are good on radar/laser detection but time to time I have to return them for repair. Latest X50 I got I returned because of paint got cracked all over after 2 month. But I believe it is result of everything is made in China these days, no quality control there at all.

Thanks for the input guys. I actually just purchased a 9500ix escort. Ill let u guys know how I like it. How did u guys install yours? Im pretty on the c204 coupe theres only 1 12V socket and its conveniently located behind the center console under the back passenger air conditioner.Gonna require a small bit of wire running. Theres the option of the cigarette port being modified to power it also. wish we had a 12V in the glovebox like on the E350s haha.

@MNM5ETR -- best combo is an escort 9500CI for radar, ALP for laser defense. Lucky enough, I have a package for sale right now in classifieds under the electronics / lighting section -- just took out my set from my C63 when the lease ended. PM me if interested.
