Intermittent "clicking noise and interior dome light flicker with radio screen dim"
Hello all. This is my first post seeking feedback. We are the original owners of a 2002 C230 Kompressor Coupe with 124K miles. Awesome car and no problems except age related suspension & drive train component replacements a month ago. Last week the dealer replaced a "purge valve" to kill a "check engine" light issue.
Shortly after this replacement we began experiencing an intermittent clicking in the headliner coupled with flickering of the dome lights and dimming of the radio display. Sun roof screens would open but not the roof...then screen stopped opening. Presumed mechanic had to disconnect battery and forgot to re-set sunroof.
Re-set the sunroof switch per instructions in the owners manual so all is working properly...except the flickering and clicking noise is still occurring... every two to three cranks / trips.
I removed the "module" from the roof liner to check connectors and all seem ok / obtained the part number A38201201/7D43 which appears to be the entire "module" for roof switch and light switches. Not sure if replacing this will resolve the issue as the cost is $478.00 from dealer plus labor & 10-15 days delivery from Germany.
