Update due when ??
Have a new ML and looking at C class for wife. Love the interior of the all new C class 4 door but prefer the coupe.
When is an upgrade due for coupe to column shift gear selector etc. same as 4 door sedan ??

Was actually at my MB dealer over the weekend asking out of curiosity that same question re. the new 205 series coupes and was told they'll be here by sometime over the 2nd quarter of next year, ie. between April and June 2015.
But that is not totally confirmed, we should know for sure by about Feb next year.
Also AFAIK the column gear selector will be the same in all 205 series variants sedan and coupe including all the AMG's.
Also it's confirmed there'll be both a coupe and convertible in the new 205 series

That would definitely be a little exaggerated.
Again AFAIK the longest time frame would be early 2016 which means 12-15 months at most no where near 3 years from now.
If you were wanting an AMG coupe then they look like definitely being sometime in 2016, but all evidence/information so far seems to suggest early to mid next year for the basic model/variants C205 coupe and convertible.
Regarding the current C204 and W204 I know of lots of people who are actually still buying this model because they are not happy with the look of the new 205, it would seem that unlike the 204 series which was love at first sight for most people the new 205 has polarised opinions in respect to its looks, you either like it or not despite the fact that it is a better overall vehicle and a big step forward for the C Class range.
I have my fingers crossed that the new C205 AMG coupes will look outstanding because I'll be in the market for one of those in future, if not I'll snap one of the last C204 507's instead

I've actually been spending most of my MB World forum time over the last 6 months in the W205 C63 section, try that area also it's where you'll get all the latest gossip, news etc. on the future C Class AMG's
