Hedlight bulds
I replaced the stock halogen bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar zXe when I got the car. Last night one of the bulbs died. I replaced the silverstars with the original bulbs.
I'm looking to replace the bulbs with something that matches the whiteness of the LED daytime running lights and the upgraded LED parking lights. The silverstar were too yellow and not a good match. I've been looking at LED bulbs but want people's opinion as to what is good.
What do you recommend? Are LED bulbs as good as halogen and will they not toss error codes?

LED bulbs are not recommend for primary forward projecting lights in housing not designed specifically to capture LED type lighting spread. Although total advertised lumens look good, the non true 360 nature of SMD will result in dark spots and reduced throw distance. If you're looking for whiter halogen bulbs, whitest units we've seen are Philips Diamond Visions. Otherwise, HID retrofit conversion is the way to go.

LED technology has advanced and for some, the level of illumination might be good enough. Really what you're (and we're) waiting for is 3D LEDs to achieve a lumen level where it reached DOT level regulations as 3D smds are true 360.
