C350 Sun Roof Issue

**UPDATE**

Took it to the dealer and sadly had to pay their $191 diagnosis fee but in the grand scheme of things isn't terrible I suppose.

Anyways, it seems that the sunshade and the switch to operate the sunshade/sunroof lost synchronicity somehow. Not a common issue but that was all it was. They went into the system, did some sort of adaptation and there you have it. Problem solved. Still deathly afraid to use it again though. Don't want to spend another $191 to get the sunshade to work ha

Thanks for the replies, hopefully this will help people in the future.

So on the C350 there is the long retractable mesh cover for the roof.

Drove around and retracted the mesh cover, parked, and 15 minutes later when I came back I could not have it come back forward. It is stuck in the retracted position.

The switch to operate it can only move it about a 1/2 inch back and forth.

I cant pop the sunroof open at all either.

Has anyone experienced this issue?

I checked the fuse for the sunroof but it was fine, even replaced it.

Any ideas? Very frustrating having that mesh retracted 24/7

This is the position it is stuck in.

I have had this issue as well. You have to take the car to the dealer for them to grease up the tracks on the pano roof. Once you do that it should be smooth as silk from there on. I took mine two months ago and i have no issues opening or closing the pano roof.

Did you have a warranty through MB? I have an extended warranty through the Ford dealer I found it at that should cover everything under the sun. Curious if Mercedes will want to charge me something..

Thanks for the info too, I had a feeling it would come down to that.

They want their typical $200 diagnosis fee paid.

Does anyone know where the motor is located?

Just don't see how them greasing the tracks will do anything when it doesn't move more than a half inch in that position.

If the car is under it's factory warranty, then there should be no charge. I'm taking advantage of the 4 months remaining on mine as she's been at the dealership for every little discrepancy.

I wish I was that lucky. She's beyond her factory warranty. I did talk to the dealership and my warranty company and it says that it will replace a sun roof motor.I'm hoping they'll look at it, do something quick and they wont need to contact the warranty company and then go back and forth to see if what they did is covered.

Have an appointment for the Ford dealership to look at it tomorrow, not thrilled about that but its what I get I suppose.
